Pastor's
welcome...
Welcome to Trinity Christian Fellowship's home on the Internet!
I am so excited that you have taken the time to visit our
website! It's great that we can communicate a bit of
information about who we are to those who are interested in
finding out more about us. While you won't be able to have the same
experience as joining us for one of our worship gatherings, you
can certainly gain some information about who we are,
where we've been, where we plan to go, and what is currently
going on.
I love how the apostle Paul wrote that God purposed "to unite
all things in [Jesus], things in heaven and things on earth"
(Eph. 1:10). That would be a simple way to summarize what
we desire here at TCF. We want to see "heaven" impact you
while you are here on earth. It is unfortunate that many
people feel that God isn't near to us, especially in light of
what the Scriptures tell us! For instance, James wrote,
"draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (4:8).
The writer of Hebrews stated that "without faith it is
impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God
must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek
Him" (11:6).
Therefore, the bible clearly indicates that God wants to have a
relationship with you! What a wonderful truth to abide in. Here
at TCF, we exist for the purpose of cultivating our
relationship with God, and secondly our relationships with each
other. Hebrews emphasizes the importance of being a part
of a church community when it states the following:
"And let us consider how to stir up one
another to love and good works, not
neglecting to meet together, as is the habit
of some, but encouraging one another,
and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
- Heb. 10:24-25 |
These verses indicate that not
only does God desire that you have a relationship
with Him,
He wants you to have a relationship
with other Christians.
This is why we like to use the word "community" to describe what
we are. We aren't a religious organization that exists to
get a large number of people for the sake of having a lot of
people; rather, we want to reach you where you are at and help
you in your relationship with God. As a community, we have
a "common unity" in that we believe that God is most glorified
when we are most satisfied in Him. David wrote to God, "in
your presence there is fullness of joy" (Ps. 16:11).
Therefore, we at TCF are radically committed to helping you be
supremely satisfied in God!
Our community is by no means perfect. We are continually
finding ways that we can improve; we are continually finding
ways to reach people better; we are continually finding ways to
bring Him glory. In fact, as humans, we often aren't very
good followers, or very good learners. Yet, we are blessed
because we have a great leader and a great teacher! We
rest in the knowledge that God is on our side. He is
always there for us, which makes it a whole lot easier for us to
live our lives for Him. We hope you feel at home with us,
whatever your background. We are not perfect, but we have
been saved by the one who is. And he did it by grace
alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Christ alone, for
the glory of God alone, revealed by the Scripture alone.
We love people because God loves people, and I'm confident that
you can find a place to fit here. In fact, we cling to the
truth that everyone matters! Everyone is important!
Everyone can contribute! Paul said that "the parts of the
body that seem to be weaker are indispensable" (1 Cor. 12:22)!
Imagine that! No matter what kind of role you play in the
community, you are "indispensable." Whether you serve
food, clean bathrooms, teach bible lessons, sing songs, or are
simply "checking things out" -
you are indispensable!
I encourage you to come and visit us as we journey together in
our pursuit of knowing God. Our worship gatherings are
relaxed and we welcome people from all walks of life.
Whether you work in a factory or are a stay-at-home-mom; whether
you are a teacher or you farm; whether you have been a Christian
for your whole life or you are "curious." We welcome you
with open arms!
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling
and to present you blameless before the presence of
his glory with great joy, to the only God, our
Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory,
majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time
and now and forever. Amen."
