Trinity Christian Fellowship believes strongly that we are Jesus’ Church (Col. 1:18) and that He is the “Senior Pastor” here. Throughout the New Testament, we find that Jesus leads His Church through the plurality of Pastors (also referred to as Elders, Bishops, Presbyters, or Overseers). We find evidence for this in one of the earliest letters (James 5:14), throughout the book of Acts (Acts 11:30; 14:23; 15:2-23; 20:17-38; 21:8), and in the last letters by Paul (1 Tim. 3:1-7; 4:14; 5:17-22; Titus 1:5-9) and by Peter (1 Pet. 5:1-5).
We refer to these men as Overseers because that word adequately reflects their purpose – they function to oversee the church and not be the church (Acts 20:28); they function to oversee the ministry, not do all the ministry (Eph. 4:11-16). Our Overseers are all pastoral, though each of them oversees different areas of church life. They meet throughout the month to pray for the congregation and discuss how they can best bring glory to God by leading and serving the congregation. The Overseers welcome any and all feedback, concerns, prayers, requests that you may have!
While these pastors, by the grace of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, oversee the congregation, much of the ministry is carried out by men and women who make up our Ministry Team and the people who serve in various ways under the ministries that our congregation currently serve through. We would love your involvement!
