Research has discovered that most children form their entire idea of who God is and whether or not they’ll have a relationship with Him before leaving the 5th grade. At Trinity Christian Fellowship, our goal is to show kids that the Bible is the source of truth and wisdom, how the things they are learning can be applied in their daily lives, and that relationships with their friends and small group leaders matter.
How do we do this?
With our younger children, ages 1 to 3, we use the “First Look” curriculum to teach three core truths:
- God Made Me
- God Loves Me
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever
Our older children have three groups (4K-1st grade; 2nd-3rd grade; 4th-5th grade) and they follow the “252 Basics” curriculum based on Luke 2:52, which states that “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.” This curriculum teaches these three core truths:
- FAITH: I can trust God no matter what.
- WISDOM: I need to make the wise choice.
- FRIENDSHIP: I should treat others how I want to be treated.
Our Kid’s Ministry operates during the Sunday worship gathering, freeing parents to focus their attention more fully on developing their own relationship with God. Parents are given a pager during the service to enable us to contact them if their child needs them. Because we take safety as a top priority, all of our kid’s ministry volunteers have gone through background checks.
If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to our Kid’s Church Coordinators, Dan and Angie Peterson.
