After several years of prayer and discussion, our leadership went through the process of adopting into the Vineyard Movement. We’ve been blessed by being a part of the Vineyard family and are glad to be connected with a larger association of churches. One of the reasons why we discerned this was such a great fit for us was that our theology and practices were so similar to what is found in other Vineyard churches. We deeply value Jesus’ central message of the kingdom of God and we also love that we can welcome the Holy Spirit’s presence without needing to manipulate people or have a lot of “hype.” While the Vineyard is certainly not the “best” church movement that exists, we do have values that make us unique. While there are many other global expressions of the Christian faith that are God-honoring and effectively spreading the great news about Jesus, we have core values that help guide our theology and practices. In September, we’re going to spend four weeks looking at the Vineyard core values as well as learning about our history. The Vineyard core values are:
- The Theology & Practice of the Kingdom of God.
- Experiencing God.
- Culturally Relevant Mission.
- Reconciling Community.
- Compassionate Ministry.
We’d love to invite you to join us as we grow deeper in our understanding of how Scripture shapes our values and why these values are so important to who we are!
