What should I expect?
What can I expect when I check out a group?
First of all, every group is open to whomever wants to come! Our groups expect visitors, so feel free to drop by. Most groups follow the same general format so when you attend, here’s what you can generally expect.
Relationship: Most groups begin with an ice breaker of sorts so that people begin to relax and get to know one another more. Often times someone brings a snack to share, which is another great way to hang out and chat.
Worship: The truth is, we all worship something. In our Community Groups, we intentionally take time to worship God. Sometimes Community Groups will worship using a guitar, a keyboard or even a worship DVD.
Discussion: We believe that the Bible is our plumb-line for life. It is the standard against which we are to measure every area of our lives; therefore, each week we take time to read a passage in the Bible and talk about how it applies to our lives. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert to participate!
Prayer: Because we care for one another, we want to take time to pray for each other, asking God to work in our lives in the areas we need encouragement, support, healing, deliverance, faith, or any number of things. We believe that God longs to personally touch us with his love and grace, through prayer.
