Darlene Manley -
Secretary
Darlene Manley is the wonderful person you hear on the other
side of the phone when you call TCF! She was born in Madison, WI
and has lived a wonderful life! Darlene attended UWEC and Luther
Hospital School of Nursing but was forced to pursue a
bookkeeping vocation due to health problems. At any rate, she
served the Stanley-Boyd Schools for 21 years as a bookkeeper!
Darlene and her husband, Don, had two children of their own and
two adopted children who also became their own. In 1993,
Don went home to be with the Lord, though Darlene has been very
blessed to still have her children, their spouses, and twelve
grandchildren along with four great grandchildren!
Having lived in Amarillo, TX and Chicopee Falls, MA due to
having a military husband, Darlene has had a chance to travel!
They have been to all the eastern states and much more.
Hobbies:
I love scrapbooking and have made a special
scrapbook for each of my children and two of my grandsons. I am
now working on books for my granddaughters. I also love spending
time with friends and family. My little cocker, Precious, takes
lots of my time and is so loving and loyal. When my grandsons
were in high school we attended their football and baseball
games and wrestling matches. I was honored to attend the
Wisconsin State Wrestling Tournament in Madison seven times!!
Favorite Superhero:
My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
Favorite Bible verse:
Psalm 91 which I find very comforting. I also like
Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall
run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” There are
many others too numerous to mention.
Favorite Book(s):
The Bible and whatever book I am reading at the
present time! I also enjoy Guideposts magazine which I have
subscribed to for many, many years.
Favorite Song:
“We Shall Behold Him” & “It Is Well With My Soul”
Favorite Food:
Prime rib with sweet potato fries. Yum!
Favorite Movie:
The Passion of the Christ
Personal Quirks (annoying habits):
Reading several books at the same time and then
getting them mixed up in my mind!
Greatest Accomplishment:
My wonderful family
Most
Embarrassing Moment:
At my daughter Donna’s graduation from CVTC, the
announcement was made that all cell phones were to be shut off.
I thought mine was and guess what—it rang in the middle of a
speech and all eyes were on me!
Goals
& Aspirations:
With the Lord’s help, I aspire to be the best
Christian, Mom, Grandma, Sister, and friend that I can be.
Anything else?:
I have truly been blessed by TCF and the wonderful
church family we have. |
